The Problem of Vertical Signal Propagation

WiFi signals do not respect floors. In a 10-story building with every AP on Channel 6 at maximum power, the result is massive self-interference chaos. Devices hear dozens of APs and struggle to decide which to join.

Controlled Vertical Cell Design

The professional solution is Cell Sizing: we deliberately reduce each AP's power to the minimum needed to cover only its assigned floor. The AP on floor 3 covers floor 3, but its signal dies before reaching floor 4.

Per-Floor Channel Planning: We assign non-overlapping channels rotating the pattern each floor. Floor 1 uses Channel A, floor 2 Channel B, floor 3 Channel C. No channel directly competes with the adjacent floor.
  • Co-Channel Interference Elimination: We boost overall spectral efficiency by eliminating interference between floors.
  • Smooth Vertical Roaming: With well-defined cells, devices perform clean handoffs when riding elevators.

Does your building WiFi work great on some floors but terribly on others?

Classic symptom of vertical self-interference with no cellular design. We design a per-floor RF architecture.
