The infamous WannaCry ransomware in 2017 exploited the EternalBlue vulnerability in Windows. Microsoft had published patch MS17-010 exactly 59 days before the attack. Companies that applied the patch were protected. Those that didn't — countless organizations — lost millions. Proactive patch management is the difference between being a victim or being resilient.

Pre-Update Assessment: Before applying any UniFi firmware update, we evaluate the release notes for breaking changes, community-reported issues, and compatibility with client-specific configurations. We don't blindly apply every new version.
Maintenance Window: Updates run in maintenance windows agreed with the client — typically between 2AM and 4AM on a Sunday. The process includes a pre-configuration snapshot and rollback plan if something fails.
- Urgent Security Patches: For critical vulnerabilities (CVSS 9+), we apply patches outside the scheduled window with prior client notification, given the urgency of the threat.
- Post-Update Report: We generate a report for each maintenance session documenting versions before and after, process results, and any issues encountered.
